PROJECT 06 / 07
GÜLDEN KANAL.
State-certified interpreter for German Sign Language. Deaf people, hard-of-hearing people and people with cochlear implants use sign languages to communicate with one another.

Background.
Gülden Kanal is a state-certified interpreter for German Sign Language, supporting deaf and hard-of-hearing people and those with a cochlear implant across Berlin — from dealings with public authorities and medical appointments to hearings at court and with the police. This personal service needed a presence that conveys both competence and closeness and remains fully accessible to its audience.
The Brief.
Our task was to develop a coherent corporate identity that communicates the core promise — reliable understanding in both directions — at a glance. The central challenge was uniting professional credibility with a warm, respectful tone that meets people in often sensitive situations.
Our Approach.
Starting from the name, we developed a clear brand mark and a calm, highly legible design system. Colour, typography and imagery rely on strong contrast and clarity so that content stays easy to grasp for reading-oriented and sign-language-oriented users alike. We treated accessibility not as an afterthought but as a starting point.
What We Delivered.
We designed the logo and brand mark, the corporate design built upon it, and the website at dolmetscher-dgs.de. The site sets out the service areas in a clearly structured way, brings together the many contact channels — phone, SMS, WhatsApp and FaceTime — and makes the offering accessible through straightforward navigation.
The Result.
The outcome is a unified presence that makes the person behind the service visible and builds trust. Prospective clients immediately see which situations are covered and how to get in touch — with low barriers and no detours.
Why It Matters.
Communication is participation. A well-considered, accessible presence lowers barriers exactly where understanding is decisive — at government offices, in clinics or in court. Corporate identity thus becomes not a façade but a practical contribution to greater accessibility in everyday life.
